My name is Ian Sohn.
I've been at startups and multinationals. At boutique and large agencies. In roles including sales, marketing, business development, public relations and strategic partnership management. I've learned classic theory in the MBA classroom and real world execution in the business world.
In all cases I have a track record of building successful businesses, counseling some of the world’s most valued brands and developing world-class marketing talent.
I spent five years at Ogilvy. During the last three I started, built and led a 12 person team focused on the role digital, social media and word-of-mouth play in helping brands tell compelling stories. Our business results were stellar, including triple-digit revenue growth for three consecutive years. But it's the team I personally recruited (and retained) that is a point of particular pride.
In March of 2012 I joined a Chicago startup called Tap.Me that combines a number of my professional passion points - mobile, games and advertising - and scratches a startup itch I've had my entire career.
I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from New York University.
I'll talk sports, BBQ and music with anyone, any time.
